The Melbourne Wolves U16 Warriors defeated Mordy Vipers in a 35:31 grand final thriller.

Besides a season-high 41 rebounds, the Warriors also finished with a season-high 17 steals (Vipers had 6). It surely was a game to be remembered.

The Warriors totally dominated the glass, grabbing 41 rebounds – more than doubled our opponent (20). Our centre Lucas Sun finished the game with 12 points (6/10), 13 rebounds (7 offensive, 6 defensive) and 2 steals, while captain Tim Lambeth wasn’t far from a double-double with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Both George Zhao and Nigel Li had 4 steals in the game, whereas Neal Gong got the crowd on their feet with 2 huge blocks, along with 3 steals and 7 rebounds. Frankie Oddi finished the game with 7 rebounds (5 offensive, 2 defensive).

The Warriors lead at the half, 19:11 on 8/27 shooting but out-rebounded our opponent 20:12. The Vipers caught up in the second half scoring 20 points against our 16, but again we dominated the boards, grabbing 21 rebounds against their 8.
