July MVPs Revealed

The new season has begun in style! July has been a month of fierce competition, breakout performances, and unforgettable moments across every Melbourne Wolves division. Today, the club is proud to announce the July MVP winners — players who have not only put up numbers, but have lifted their teams, inspired their teammates, and embodied what it means to wear the Wolves jersey.
Selected by coaches based on performance, attitude, leadership, and consistency, each MVP represents the very best of their teams in respective matches. Every winner receives the coveted Crowned MVP Award, presented in partnership with Royal Stacks Moorabbin — our proud supporter of player excellence. The award voucher earns them a kids meal including a burger, chips, a milk shake and a fruit juice, all courtesy of Royal Stacks Moorabbin.

Max plays with a smile on his face and a motor that never quits — the kind of infectious enthusiasm that lifts everyone around him. A deserving MVP and a bright future ahead.
U10 Boys — Timberwolves: Noah Boom
Noah Boom has been nothing short of sensational for the Timberwolves this July, cementing his reputation as one of the most clutch young players in the division. His game-winning basket with 21 seconds to go against Mentone has already become the stuff of club legend, but it is his relentless work ethic, leadership by example, and defensive intensity that truly set him apart. Noah attacks every possession with purpose, never backs down from a challenge, and inspires his teammates to raise their game. A well-deserved MVP and a player with an incredibly bright future.
U10 Boys — Werewolves: Alistair Govier-Cole
Alistair Govier-Cole has been a force for the Werewolves this July, earning his MVP through a combination of gritty defence, fearless drives to the basket, and an unmatched competitive spirit. A tenacious on-ball defender with quick hands and relentless hustle, Alistair disrupts passing lanes and applies pressure that forces opponents into mistakes. Offensively, he attacks the rim with confidence, finishing through contact and creating opportunities for his teammates with unselfish passes. His consistency, coachability, and team-first attitude embody everything the Melbourne Wolves program stands for. A rising star who continues to get better every single week.
U10 Boys — Alphas: Spencer Davies
Spencer Davies has been nothing short of sensational for the Alphas this July, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting young players in the division. His lightning-quick first step, slick ball-handling, and natural scoring instinct make him a nightmare for opposing defences. Spencer consistently attacks the basket with purpose, finishes with both hands at the rim, and isn't afraid to step outside and knock down the mid-range jumper. Beyond the stats, his leadership on the court — directing teammates, setting the defensive tone, and celebrating others' success — shows a maturity well beyond his years. A deserving MVP and a player with an incredibly bright future.
U18 Girls — Arctic Foxes: Emily Damen
Emily Damen has been an absolute force for the Arctic Foxes this July, delivering all-around performances that had coaches and spectators alike shaking their heads in admiration. Scoring in bunches, crashing the boards, threading assists, forcing steals, and swatting shots — Emily flirted with near-quadruple-double territory on multiple occasions, dominating every statistical category and every inch of the court. Her basketball IQ is off the charts, her work rate is relentless, and her ability to lift her teammates while dismantling opponents makes her the heart and soul of this Arctic Foxes squad. A truly special player having a truly special season.
U8 Girls — Little Lightning: Aricia Yu
Aricia Yu was the undeniable spark behind Little Lightning's historic first win of the season, a dominant 12-4 victory over Mentone that announced her team as a force to be reckoned with. Aricia put up staggering numbers: 6 rebounds, 8 steals, and 4 points — with her steal total surpassing the entire opposition team combined. Her defensive instincts are elite for any age group; she reads passing lanes before they open, anticipates dribble moves, and turns defence into instant offence. On the boards, she attacks every missed shot with ferocity, and her four points came at crucial moments that kept the momentum firmly in Little Lightning's favour.
U18 Boys — Electric: Noah Currie
Noah Currie has been an absolute livewire for Electric this July, earning MVP honours through a combination of elite defensive intensity and relentless hustle that never lets up. A nightmare for opposing ball-handlers, Noah applies suffocating on-ball pressure, anticipates passes before they leave the guard's hands, and turns defensive stops into instant fast-break opportunities. Drawing comparisons to Dennis Rodman for his tenacious board-crashing and defensive intensity, Frankie has become the kind of energy player every championship team needs. But it is his dedication in training that truly sets him apart — through countless hours of hard work, he has added nifty footwork and crafty post moves that now remind spectators of the legendary Argentinian big man Luis Scola. Frankie combines Rodman-like rebounding dominance with Scola-esque finesse, making him one of the most unique and valuable players in the division.

On the defensive end, Nakoa's quick feet, active hands, and fearless approach make him a constant disruptor — opposing players simply struggle to find their rhythm when he's on the court. A rising star who continues to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor.
A Word From the Committee
"Every month, we see so many players who could win this award," said club president Russell Witney. "But the MVP is about more than stats. It is about showing up early, staying late, supporting teammates, and representing Melbourne Wolves with pride — on and off the court. Every one of our July winners does exactly that."
The Crowned MVP Award is proudly sponsored by Royal Stacks, Melbourne's favourite burger destination. Winners receive a personalised certificate, a commemorative MVP card, and recognition across all club channels.
Congratulations to every July MVP. You have made your club, your coaches, and your families proud. Keep setting the standard — the best is yet to come.
Let's go Wolves!
