Welcome to the Wolves family! Everything you need to know to support your young athlete.
On this page you will find some frequently asked questions from our new (and existing) parents, and a Parent Checklist that takes you step by step through the registration process. We promise it gets easier every season, but the first time we recommend a strong coffee to get you through!
Your Team Manager will be your go-to person for general enquiries about your team and uniform, and we are here for everything else.
Yes, we encourage more basketball activities for everyone! For example the Sandringham Basketball Association by-laws only prevent players from joining two teams in the same age group. This is why you will often see players in their own age group (e.g. U10), and also playing in a second team that is one age group above (U12).
If playing in an older age group isn't for your child, we have some teams that play in two leagues. Just make sure it's one of our registered leagues, and the fixtures don't clash. We are registered with the Southern Basketball Association, Waverley Basketball Association, and Melbourne East Basketball Association. If joining another club, please ask for an exemption first.
We're affiliated with Basketball Mentors, who offer rep-ready programs and private tuition. While most rep players come from Grade A or B teams, dedicated players from lower divisions have also succeeded.
Recommendation: Talk with your coach about the best options for you.
Yes. Rep players are required to join a Grade A or Grade B Domestic team. Your child will be allocated a number of points when they join their Rep team.
Important: When joining one of our Domestic teams, you will need to notify the Coach or Team Manager of your child's allocated points. Domestic teams have strict rules about how many points they can have in one team.

For pricing details click herePurchase your uniform. At a minimum, all players need to purchase the Jersey+Shorts ($80). We highly recommend the uniform bundle for our new players ($149.99). Popular items are the ball and the hoodie.
Whilst we prefer the Jersey+Shorts to be purchased as a set, we understand that some returning players may require just the shorts or just the jersey. In this circumstance, the jersey is $50, and shorts are $30.
Your Team Manager will take note of your preferred jersey number, find out your size, and collect money for the uniform and any additional merch. When choosing a jersey number, please avoid #0, #00, #99, and #98 (reserved for club spares). To reduce clashes, consider skipping popular numbers like #23 and #67.
Important: We won't be able to process the whole team's uniforms until payment is made. THE DEADLINE FOR UNIFORM ORDER IS 15th DECEMBER BEFORE THE AUTUMN SEASON STARTS, and 15th JUNE BEFORE THE SPRING SEASON. Any order placed after this time may incur an extra shipping cost to your team.

Parents will rotate scoring throughout the season (no experience required). Your Team Manager will provide a scoring roster, please liaise with your team manager should you not be able to fulfil your scoring duties. Please note scorers need to be 14 years or above.
You will be given an allocated team training time, this is usually weekly throughout the school term.
Please investigate when your team finals are and try to make holiday arrangements after these dates.
In the lead up to games;
Your Team Manager will advise what colour jersey to wear. (BOYS: Blue = Home game, White = Away game. GIRLS: Pink = Home game, White = Away game). If your team is listed first (top) in the fixture, that signifies a Home game. If your team is listed second (bottom) in the fixture, that signifies an Away game.
If your child is unable to attend a game, please notify your Team Manager ASAP as it takes time to find Fill-In players. Forfeiting incurs a hefty fine and an automatic 0:20 loss.
On Game Day;
If you are the allocated scorer for the game, arrive 10 minutes prior to the game and enter the present players on the scorer's ipad. Games can't start until this is completed. Also add any Fill-In or Emergency player details (full name, date of birth, contact email, jersey number). Please note that parents forgetting it is their turn to score often delays games.
Help your child put their belongings/water bottle to one side of the scoring bench. If we are listed as the Home team, the team sits to the right (if you are standing on the court and looking at the scoring bench). Remind players to put their water bottles close to the coach as this is where they will be seated for breaks.
Remind your child to take off hoodies/additional clothing before they start warm up. Tape earrings, remove watches and any baggy undergarments.
Please refrain from coaching on the sidelines. This confuses the players and may undermine your coach.
